Facebook is a social networking website. By definition it is more than just social networking, it is an online community. A place where people can meet and interact; swap videos, photo's and information. A place to connect with friends, family, fellow students, fellow hobbyists and coworkers.
Facebook is fast becoming the most popular social networking web site on the internet, surpassing the MySpace web site in its number of registered users. Over 30 million users access Facebook through mobile devices alone.
Facebook isn't just for kids anymore, the fastest growing segment of the community are users aged between 35 - 54 years old.
Although developed in 2004 at Harvard University for students, 70% of its web site users are registered outside of the US.
Facebook is FREE to join because its revenue is generated by advertising and banner ads.
